• Get on with the errands in odd hour (avoid morning and evening hours traffic)
• Pre order some of the thing, to pick up
• Make phone calls as you go

Hello Everyone,

I have been working on my research skills and I found out, that more and more information is available on the municipality websites. Now people can fined how much taxes they have to pay, what kind of documents they need for their property, how long is going to take the process an so on. Some municipalities are more progressive than others, but they are coming alone.

Custom House Bulgaria 1

One more rule that I understood about custom house in Bulgaria.

If you receive a package from country out site of EU and if the package is sent by a company the value of the package must not be more than 15 Euro or equivalent amount in Euro.

For Example:

If sender is "Company X" to recipient person in Bulgaria the invoice amount must not be more then 15 Euro including transportation.

If it is more than 15 Euro you must pay VAT of 20% of the total amount.      

Custom House Bulgaria

If you have a package sent to you from USA or any other out of EU country,  you must know few thing when you go to custom office on 84 Veslets Street in Sofia or any other custom office in Bulgaria. 

If your package is send by regular post services.

After you receive notice “ИЗВЕСТИЕ” from BG post in your mail box, you have to go to custom office to release your package. Make sure that your name is on the notice, because it has to be in person, if it is not, make sure to have power of attorney original + copy, ID and pen. 

In custom office you go first to BG post open, they will give you some documents with them you will go to customs official, this person will ask you about your package; “what is it”, “do you have invoice”, “Is it new product” and so on. The purpose of this questions are to determine if you have to pay taxes. Everything over 45 Euro equivalent in Bulgarian leva you have to pay taxes. 

So, when you receive package make sure on the documents to be written:“Gift”, “Used product”, “ Zero value on the invoice” , and remove any label if your product has it.  This is the safe way, not to have any trouble and the process will be no more than 30 min.

After the conversation with customs official, and if they do not have any problem with your package, you will receive your documents signed and stamp.

From there you will go to another entry to receive your package.

You may have to pay some money about 5 to 10 leva if your package was at the custom house longer.

If you have observed the traffic in Sofia and you have wonder “Why here is no sign”, “Why cars are stopping here”, “Why is not regulated” and so on. Here is information what can it be done. 

For the traffic in Sofia is responsible Sofia Municipality, direction Transport Infrastructure. Below is the contact information.

If a citizen has question about the traffic control, street markings and so on, they should contact the people above.

I wanted to know if it is a program for better traffic control for region in Sofia, Lozenets, Seminary area. Pics below.

   

So I called to the Municipality to ask if they have plans for street marking for this area,  and they said “Road work will start in a few months, so now will not have any street marking”. My idea was like this:

Of course, I offer to send my idea to the Municipality, so they can tell me if my solution was correct. Mr. Nestorov review my work and he said “If you want to submit an offer to the committee to be vote on it, you should put plan together with the exact measurements of the street, how far from the sidewalk, real measurements of the street and so on. My attention was not to create professional plan, so I will wait to see the road work that is coming up.
